About this space
We are an independent, fun, cocktail bar in east London offering private party/venue hire to celebrate birthdays, leaving parties, engagements and corporate events. We’ve hosted a range of parties where you can arrange private bar hire of the whole venue or just one bar for your guests to party the night away. We will be available to assist you every step of the way to ensure your event is a success.
We are just 5 minutes walk from Aldgate East tube with close proximity to Brick Lane, Spitalfields, Shoreditch and the City. We are just 20 mins walk from London Bridge and Shoreditch train stations. We have a wood fired pizza menu available for pre-order, cocktails, craft beers, premium spirits and wines to cater for all tastes, and an atmosphere packed with east London energy.
When hiring our basement bar for your party, you can expect the following:
- Efficient and quick communication by Kim who will be your point of contact throughout your booking.
- A friendly bar team and security to look after you and your guests, managed by Reggie.
- You can play your own music or bring your own DJ. We provide fully equipped DJ equipment. Or, we can provide background music for you and you can control the volume as desired.
- Our basement bar is fully air controlled with air conditioning in the warmer months.
- There's quick access to an outdoor area.
- Regarding decorations, this is fine providing it's within our specific guidelines. However, decoration is not permitted in December just because we decorate for Christmas but you can bring free standing balloons.
- You can bring a cake.
- You can bring your own nibbles and finger food if you wish.
- You can have your own personalised cocktail menu at no extra cost. Info on this is provided after booking.
Overall, we work hard to ensure your party goes smoothly and we make sure you and your guests have a good time!

We have a full sound and iPod connectable sound system on both floors, two cocktail bars, heated garden, Wi-Fi, screen, experienced cocktail bartenders, friendly staff and owners, and security.
Canapés and bowl food are available for 30 guests and above. BBQ’s are available in the summer when hiring the whole venue or lounge bar exclusively. We work with only approved caterers and we are happy to provide menus on request. If you want something more casual, we have a wood fired pizza menu for you to tuck into.
We can offer prosecco, Champagne or cocktail drink receptions for your guests arrival. Each bar is stocked full of international spirits and our bar team are on hand to produce an array of irresistible, hand-crafted cocktails that are sure to leave you grinning.
Minimum spends apply and varies depending on the day of the week. There's no hire fee or service charge.

I organised my 30th birthday & leaving party here and it was one of the best choices of my life! The staff at Apples & Pears are 15/10, everyone from bartenders to management and security. Everyone made feel supported and all my guests complimented them and the location itself! It was perfect for the occasion and we had such a great time thanks to them!!!

I was so impressed with the venue’s level of communication, which was excellent throughout the planning stage (thanks Kim!). This was the perfect venue for my event and we all had a fantastic time. The bar staff were attentive and made our night fun. The venue was exactly as described and I got my deposit back within days of my event ending (as I’d hit the minimum spend during my event). I would definitely recommend this venue.
The only thing to remark is that the toilets are on the first floor so this venue isn’t ideal for everyone, but that’s literally the only thing I can mention.
Kim and Reggie did everything to make our event a success! Both are super friendly with excellent communication throughout. Venue was in a great location, with a huge selection of drinks. The basement bar was ideal for our party of 55 and would definitely consider hiring out again. Thanks again guys!
The service from start to finish was absolutely great! A big thanks to Kim for supporting in organising and being very responsive. Reggie is so warm and welcoming! On the night we had 2 very approachable and friendly staff at the bar and who helped us set up! Mohammed was particularly amazing at the bar! He had amazing recommendations and made the night a lot more pleasurable! He was very chatty with everyone too! Everything went so smoothly because of the team and the venue was perfect for my partners 30th birthday. The music from the in house Dj was just ourtaste (although we were told he would be there from 8pm and he arrived at 9pm). The Dj was also so so so friendly as well! Thanks to everyone who made the night even better than I could’ve hoped for! My partner had a 30th birthday that he will always remember!
Only thing was that the DJ arrived a little later than expected but luckily our party started at 9pm so we were very lucky! I was worried at the start of the night as I was told he was running late and they didn’t know when he was coming. I had my own music playlist but was hoping the Dj music would start our night off (which it did in the end). It’s just the only thing that made me a little stressed when setting up after being told he would be there at 8pm.
